Frequently Asked Questions - CME Online

Q:

I want to take an online posttest. Where do I begin?

A:

Click on the course you want from our Course Catalog. This will take you either to the course page or directly to the post-test with registration information. If you have already registered, you will enter your email address and the password you have selected.

Q:

How do I register to take a course?

A:

To register for the first time, you will need to fill in all the blanks on the page and hit the "register" button. You will only need to do this once. This will enter your information into our online database for future use. Please note, the online posttest database is separate from the Johns Hopkins Continuing Medical Education database.

Q:

How do I update or change my user profile?

A:

To view your User Profile, click on the left side of the test page. This includes all of your information and the courses in which you have participated. You may edit your profile at any time to update address or other fields.

A:

Simply select your answers, proceed through the course evaluation questions and hit the submit button. You will know immediately whether you have passed the test. You will then be directed to your online certificate, which you can print from the browser window.

Q:

After registering for my first CME Online course, do I have to register again?

A:

No. After registering, you won't have to undergo the registration process again. You will only need to enter in your email address and password.

Q:

Do I have to download anything to take the courses?

A:

Certain courses may require you to download a plug-in in order to view the course content. A plug-in is an add-on to your browser that will enable you view certain content the browser can not normally display. For example, you usually need a plug-in to view Video over the Internet. The plug-in needed and instructions on the download process will be available at the course page.

Q:

Sometimes, when I try to take the test it says Access Denied. What is my problem?

A:

Although you may take the Post-test as many times as you want, you will not be able to access the Post-test until you have viewed all the lessons or presentations within a course. The number of presentations varies from course to course, but can be between 1-4. When you try to access the Post-test without viewing all available presentations you will receive an Access Denied message.

Q:

I completed the posttest but I did not print a Certificate of Attendance before logging off. How can I get one?

A:

If you did not print your certificate or need another copy, please contact the CME office for assistance at fundedcme@jhmi.edu
